I have been given an assignment at UHG and here goes the same. Crux is  ….just make sure that whatever you have mentioned in the Resume – you have ample knowledge on the same. What I understood from my experience is – they are looking for good amount of domain + theoretical knowledge. Coz as far as practical usage is concerned – I answered everything but couldn’t really tell the ‘definitions’ & ‘bookish sentences’ they were asking me. I guess you need to get back to your training days and mug up the training material that you had eaten once :P

Questions:

  1. Good knowledge on SQL – especially JOINS
  2. Types of Testing – which one you had followed and advantages/disadvantages of the same.
  3. Testing models being used in your project – explain the same in detail ( I explained V-Model)
  4. Difference btw verification and validation
  5. Concepts like EP and BVA
  6. Usage of QC – how to raise defects and all, how you update test cases to QC etc
  7. Good knowledge on QTP
  8. Trackers used in your project. Asked me the templates of Review Tracker, Ambiguity tracker
  9. sdlc , STLC – stages of your involvement in STLC
  10. Databases & Tools that you had worked on – eg they asked me about VSS, FTP tools and databases that are mentioned in my CV
