When you record a Test, it is recommended that you resize QuickTest Professional and the aut (Application Under Test) so that the applications are visible simultaneously. To record a test:

  1. On the QuickTest Professional Toolbar, click RECORD. The RECORD AND RUN SETTINGS dialog box appears.
  2. Select the RECORD AND RUN TEST ON ANY OPEN WINDOWS-BASED APPLICATION option.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Perform the required Actions on the AUT (Application Under Test).
  5. Click STOP when the user steps are completed.
