Job Description:
Technology Services is an exciting and dynamic organization that provides quality and project services as well as operational support for West Technology within Thomson Reuters Professional. The Technology Services Software Quality department is responsible for maximizing Application quality and stability through the implementation of change control processes, tools, and environments and the execution of software and Product testing services.
The following technologies are used on current projects:
- Java/J2EE (EJB, JSP, WebSphere)
- Microsoft .NET (C#, ASP.NET, etc)
- Third Party Test tools, including: Compuware Test Partner, TMX, Rational Functional Tester, SilkPerformer, Parasoft SOATest
- SQL (oracle, DB2, SQL Server)
- AJAX
- Spring
- Web Services
Essential Day to Day Activities :
- Plan and execute software testing tasks for enterprise applications developed using various technologies including distributed Internet technologies (.NET, Java/J2EE, web services, etc.).
- Independently perform complex tasks that require specific expertise or domain knowledge, and conduct analysis, planning, and implementation on medium to large complex projects.
- Provide leadership for and actively participate in test and process automation, Manual as well as automated testing, and the development of software testing artifacts, including test requirements, plans, cases, scripts, reports, etc., for assigned projects with little to no guidance.
- Assist fellow software testing staff and software developers with the analysis and resolution of defects.
- Collaborate with software development teams and other business partners to ensure requirements are being met and that software testing services are adding value.
- Proactively share knowledge across software testing groups on best practices for testing software developed using new and emerging technologies.
- Research and implement new, innovative ways of providing quality testing services. Actively participate in organizational initiatives to define, measure, and Report on application quality and stability.
- May provide leadership to other software testers, usually on a given team or project, to include: coaching, assignment of duties, establishing and measuring fulfillment of expectations, reviewing completed work.

Qualification:
A four-year degree, preferably in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, Engineering, or other related field.
Required Skills:
- At least 5 years of software testing and/or software development experience, including programming or white box testing experience in Java, C++, .NET, or some other object-oriented language.
- Strong technical aptitude and experience with the software tools and techniques used in automated testing (e.g., Compuware TestPartner, SilkPerformer), white box testing, or other process automation.
- Proven ability to work proactively and effectively in a fast-paced, complex, Global, and dynamic environment. Experience working across multiple geographic locations.
- Bias for Action, accepting personal responsibility to deliver on commitments, demonstrating courage to raise issues, and proactively working to resolve issues and remove barriers in a timely manner.
- Self-motivated, able to apply good judgment, and willing to mentor others.
- Effective written and oral communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
